Loot Rules (submitted by Greydin at 11:12am MDT)

PLEASE NOTE: We no longer use DKP to distribute loot!

Common Affliction distributes loot via loot council. A few exceptions, such as bags, are decided by a simple high /roll.

The council consists of five knowledgeable people that vote on whom receives different pieces of loot. Each council is drawn from a pool of raid members and includes two members of the leadership council, one raid officer, and two raiders.

After an encounter, the loot master will link a piece of loot and raiders are asked to link the piece being upgraded from. Additional information, such as tier set bonuses, may also be asked for and included. The loot council then confers to decide which raider receives the piece of loot.

Loot is distributed by a number of factors. These include:

- Attendance
- Level of upgrade
- Performance
- Contribution in raid
- Preparation (flasks, food, gems, and enchants)

Also, the priority for loot follows:

- Main spec raider
- Main spec probation
- Raid off-spec raider
- Raid off-spec probation
- Main spec others (casuals, guests, etc)
- All non-raid off-specs

In addition, we gear key roles first, which means main tanks, healers, and pure DPS will see the majority of loot early during a content cycle. Please keep in mind that everyone will get loot as we continue to farm content and we will distribute gear in a way that puts the guild and the progression of the raid first.
